This coffee from comes to us from the Alaka village station which is located in the Hambela district of Ethiopia's famed Guji Zone. The coffee is grown at an elevation between 1900 and 2250 meters by small-holder producers who cultivate the local heirloom varietals.
Great coffees from Guji are renowned for an intense, almost confectionery like sweetness.
This lot has been processed as a Natural, meaning the cherries have been picked ripe, sorted and allowed to dry whole in a combination of full sun and shade. The drying of the cherry whole imparts a rich fruit character into the coffee.
